Mezzo Soprano Maria Jones possesses a voice of rare quality. Her rich, dark voice enables her to sing much varied repertoire from Wagner to Handel.
Maria trained initially in performing arts before entering the Royal Northern College of Music to study opera; on leaving the Royal Northern she made her principal debut with the D’oyly Carte Opera at the Savoy Theatre.
Maria has performed all over the world from the United States, Japan, Europe and the South Pacific performing principal roles with leading companies.
Maria recently made her debut in Japan with the Royal Ballet in Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder and at the Royal Festival Hall as Rossweisse in Wagner’s Die Walküre under the baton of Sir Andrew Davis.
This season Maria covered Mahler's Das Lied Von Der Erde for the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House and in New York at the Lincoln Centre.
